About Us
Welcome to Westview Cottage
Hello! We are the Webster family. We’re so glad you have found our beautiful cottage.
For over four decades, our family has been captivated by the beauty and charm of this small port village. It’s one of our favourite places in the whole world and we are always very keen to spend as much time here as possible.
Our dream of owning a second home in Port William became a reality in October 2021 when we completed the purchase of this delightful cottage.
When the family first laid eyes on Westview, it had been sitting vacant for quite some time and was in desperate need of TLC.
A Close-Knit Community
As a family, we are proud to have deep roots in this port village, with family members residing here and even being related to one set of neighbours. Dean’s cousin, Paul Maguire, is the village fisherman, bringing in daily catches of fresh lobster. It’s a true joy to share these connections with you and offer you a glimpse into the close-knit community that makes Port William so special.
As you embark on your journey in this idyllic village, we hope that you fall in love with its charm and revel in the tranquil atmosphere. We extend our warmest wishes for a memorable stay at Westview, making memories on your holiday.
Very best wishes from the Webster Family.

A Huge Renovation Project
We embarked on an extensive renovation journey, tearing the property back to its bare bones and rebuilding it from the ground up. It was a very trying renovation project with lots of ups and downs, but worth every penny for the end result.
Today, Westview is proudly presented to you as a warm and inviting holiday property. It’s caters to families, couples, groups and friends seeking the solace and serenity that can only be found in South West Scotland. We hope you enjoy your stay here.
Thank You To The Traders of Port William
We would be remiss not to acknowledge the extraordinary talents and dedication of the local tradesmen who have played an integral role in the renovation of our cottage.
We needed a huge amount of skilled and talented people to make Westview what it is today. From joiners and builders to meticulous electricians, plumbers and decorators! These brilliant individuals poured their expertise and craftsmanship into every detail, ensuring that the Westview renovations were completed to the highest standard possible.
Throughout the renovation process, Annabelle Webster worked closely with the tradesmen from afar – mostly on FaceTime, (spanning the 500-mile distance between Kent and Port William). It was a real challenge, but a very enjoyable project for everyone.
We are so grateful to the local craftsmen who have poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of the cottage’s transformation. Their dedication meant that Westview has been perfectly restored. Every guest who steps foot inside is met with a clean, warm and homely holiday let – all thanks to them.
We’re Partnered With Sykes Holiday Cottages
To ensure that Westview is always in top-notch condition, we have partnered with Sykes Holiday Cottages.
A dedicated team of maintenance and cleaning professionals tends to the property, guaranteeing that every visit is met with impeccable cleanliness and functionality. Though we may be based 500 miles away in Kent, we make it a point to return to Port William regularly to experience the magic ourselves, accompanied by friends and family. These visits also serve as an opportunity for us to ensure that everything is as perfect as it can be.
Book Your Stay In Port William
As a family, we love to go on UK holidays as much as we can. When kitting out Westview with furnishings and decor, we chose everything we would want during a getaway of our own.
Our family did everything possible to thoughtfully furnish the cottage. We really tried to go the extra mile with mattresses, furnishings, storage and entertainment. For us, the quality of the smaller details adds up to a really lovely holiday.
We hope to see you in our cottage very soon.
